The Subjective Frame
The feelings and emotions the "Memphis Group" has conveyed through this sculpture, portrays a happy and fun feeling emotion that allows the audience to feel joyful and playful when looking at this design. The design is a bed in which people sleep on and also sit on which showcases the pictures of how the sculpture
is intended to be used. Due to the vibrant colours within the sculpture people create a spontaneous feeling that makes them want to try out this amazing chair/bed. Children will be more drawn to the sculpture as it reflects and looks very much like a boxing ring. Due to this, many children, particularly boys create an emotion of memories of watching TV which allows their inner excitement to come alive and want to participate in the fun, loving enjoyment they will have when looking and admiring this particular sculpture. This sculpture pushes the boundaries of a chair/bed as its size plays with the feelings you feel towards it. Due to the sculpture being so large it grabs your attention more easily and allows you to feel how passionate the "Memphis Group" feels and acts on how they want the audience to react to it. When looking at this sculpture it makes me feel joyful and happy but also astounded on how this group of sculptors were able to portray such a large and playful sculpture that allows you to feel like you want to break the barrier of not being able to touch the sculpture and participating in the
excitement the pictures in the background demonstrate.
